Anyone who knows me, has long been aware of my love of Star Trek. I have always particularly liked the original series with Bill Shatner (Kirk) and Leonard Nimoy (Spock). The latest movie in a long series of Star Trek movies goes back to the first adventure of Captain James T. Kirk and his crew, and I must say from the pictures I've seen and the many interviews I've read it's shaping up to be a promising and exciting film.
It has several actors that people who are not Star Trek fans may be interested to see. Some of the well-known actors filling out the cast in this film include Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes), Simon Pegg (Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz), and Karl Urban (Caesar in Xena and Eomer from Lord of the rings). They will be playing the roles of Spock, Scotty, and McCoy respectively.
I encourage everyone to at least look into the movie!

How do you feel about some already famous actors playing iconic characters? I'm not a star trek fan and since you're the biggest fan I know I really want to know how you feel about it.
I would have preferred unknown actors, but as long as the actors are true to the original characters and don't try to put some spin on the character I don't mind. I know they will do their own interpretation of the character but as long as they don't drastically change the characters (i.e. Kirk suddenly becomes a wimp and runs from fights), I'm okay with it. You should come watch the movie with me! :-D
